United are also evens to win any major trophy next year (8/11 not to win any trophy).
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told betrescue.com: “Many will reinvest their winnings in Barcelona and sit tight for a year. We expect United to go further than rivals City in the competition next season however the odds suggest it’s touch and go whether they pick up any silverware.”
Despite the final being a losing result for the bookies they remain upbeat on the back of impressive turnover levels.
Donohue added: “The correct score and first goal wasn’t the end of the world for us. More importantly, if this is an indication of turnover for big matches in future then we’re happy to take the hit in the short term. In-play figures were also very encouraging.”
