Live on ITV 4: Fri 15.30: Bangalore are 11/10 (Stan James) to win against Mumbai in a finely balanced 2nd Qualifying Final in Chennai.
Bangalore have a 2nd chance to make the IPL final after losing to Chennai in the 1st qualifier; Suresh Raina punishing a little spell of sloppy bowling that helped Chennai overcome Bangalore’s decent total of 175 with just 2 balls to go.
Mumbai go into this qualifier as 8/11 favs (Betfred) after they beat Kolkata in exciting style but there were faults to be picked up on yet again in that Mumbai innings, especially nerves and the easy loss of wickets.
Tendulkar and Blizzard are key for the Indians, they like to set up quick platforms without scoring massively; Tendulkar is 12/5 with Totesport to get the top score for them while Aiden Blizzard is better value at 4/1 (Ladbrokes). Further down the Mumbai order, James Franklin has been very dangerous recently, he is 8/1 with Betfred to top score.
Bangalore have to target the top order while Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers must find some form to crack some runs, those two are 2/1 and 4/1 (Skybet) to top score for Bangalore.
If Bangalore can avoid Malinga’s slingers and hope that Mumbai are a little more jaded from a day’s less rest, they have a real chance of causing a mini upset at 11/10 (Stan James) and setting up a re-match with Chennai.
