Live on Skysports 4: Sun 12.45: Rangers are 3/10 with Coral to get the better of Hamilton at New Douglas Park, where the hosts are without a win this season.
It must be quieter than a library at New Douglas Park these days given that Hamilton have yet to manage a home win this season and with only nine goals to cheer across 15 matches on their own patch, it can’t be much fun being an Accies fan at the moment.
Billy Reid’s men are 9/1 with to grab their first home maximum of the campaign at the 16th attempt, and that might look tempting to punters chasing their Grand National losses, but up against Rangers, Coral’s 3/10 favourites, a rare Accies triumph seems highly unlikely.
Hamilton’s lack of goals this season means that even though they are odds-on at 8/11 with Partybets to add to their meagre tally, the hosts seem unlikely to even get on the scoresheet. Reid’s troops may nevertheless be encouraged by the ‘Gers home defeat to Dundee United last week but Walter Smith’s charges bounced back well from that result, notching twice without reply at St Johnstone on Tuesday and another victory ‘to nil’ at 11/10 (888Sport) should be on the cards for the visitors.
A second consecutive 2-0 victory for Rangers is a tempting 11/2 at Stan James while in the handicaps, Sportingbet give hapless Hamilton a goal start and price the title challengers at 17/20 or alternatively, Paddy Power hand the hosts a two-goal cushion and chalk an away win up at 23/10, a bet that will pay out if the ‘Gers prevail by at least three.
In attack, punters have been piling into Nikica Jelavic in the first scorer betting at 9/4 (Betfred) as the Croatian marksman has struck seven in his last seven outings but with goals in each of his last two games, it could be worth a couple of quid on Steven Naismith, especially as he’s available at 9/2 with bet365 to break the deadlock. The Scotland international meanwhile, is quoted by Ladbrokes at 11/10 to score at any time.
