Paul Ferguson has one selection for us to get the week rolling on Monday – Izzi Top in the 6.35 at Windsor, trained by John Gosden.
Monday afternoon’s jumps action isn’t the greatest, so for the day’s selection I’m waiting until the evening fixture from Windsor and Izzi Top (6:35) in the fillies’ maiden over the extended mile.
John Gosden’s daughter of Pivotal was a real eye-catcher on her sole start at two, when runner-up to stable-companion Devastation at Doncaster in October, and she holds entries in both the 1,000 Guineas and the Oaks.
If those Classic entries are to become realistic, she needs to be shedding her maiden in the early weeks of the season and, with the Gosden string in decent form, connections will surely be disappointed if she’s beaten here.
Monday’s selection:
6:35 Windsor Izzi Top
