Live on Eurosport: Wed from 10.00: As Round 1 comes to a close, John Higgins, 2/7 with Totesport steps up against Stephen Lee.
Higgins was/is a good fancy for this tournament (currently 6/1 with Sportingbet) but that enthusiam may have been tempered a notch by the ‘arrival’ of a seemingly hungry Ronnie O’Sullivan, who is snipped to 5/1 by Coral after a very assured first round victory.
Higgins is 8/11 (Stan James) with a -1.5 frame handicap, which seems generous while Mark Selby’s handicap of -5.5 against Jimmy Roberston, making him evens with Betfred, is perhaps just 1 game or so too harsh.
