Live on Eurosport: Sat 07.30: Ding Junhui faces Mark Selby in the semi’s of the China Open at Beijing University on Saturday morning.
Ding is a home crowd favourite and will surely take that confidence into this semi against Selby, bet365 making him a tight 10/11, which is worth backing.
Mark Selby has played well but not been massively worried by his previous opponents so could find the step up a bit tricky. Ding is currently Paddy Power’s 2/1 fav for the tournament outright.
The other semi sees Shaun Murphy (our pre-tournament 14/1 shot) the 8/15 fav with Boylesports against Judd Trump. Murphy was drawing 2-2 with Higgins in the quarters before kicking on to a 5-2 victory which must stand him in great stead for this semi.
Trump, a 7/4 whot with Betfred, has played well himself but Murphy should show the quality in a best of 11 contest. A 6-4 and 6-3 win to Murphy are both 5/1 at Coral, so you can split stakes about evenly about both for a 2/1 shot.
A Ding vs Murphy final is 15/8 with Skybet.
