Live on Skysports 1: Tue 19.45: St Johnstone are 1/3 () to beat Brechin in the Cup but don’t appeal at that price.
Scottish second division outfit Brechin held St Johnstone to a draw in the pair’s cup quarter final at Glebe Park and City can again make life difficult for the Perthshire side as the pair replay at McDiarmid Park.
Saints have managed to score just once, an own goal, in six winless SPL outings and their form does little to encourage a flutter on them at just 1/3 with in this clash, even though they deserve to be favourites given that they’re at home and two divisions higher than their opponents.
For their part Brechin are a 9/1 shot at Bwin but they’re a better bet at 11/4 in Stan James’ handicap market where they receive a goal start. Aided by two clear goals the visitors are 4/5 courtesy of Boylesports and as that would be profitable should they lose by one, Jim Weir’s men are worth considering on those terms.
Elsewhere, the hosts’ lack of goals, albeit in the league, lends appeal to Coral’s even money for the contest to produce fewer than 2.5 goals in normal time and the brave can take Skybet’s odds of 9/2 for the tie to require extra-time.
Recommended Bets:
Under 2.5 goals – evens (Coral)
Brechin (+2) to beat St Johnstone – 4/5 (Boylesports)
