The totejackpot was not won at Ffos Las on Monday which means a staggering £989,008 rolls over to Tuesday’s meeting at Exeter where the total pool could break the £2million barrier. Today’s turnover was £620,635 which puts it as the ninth highest turnover day in the history of the bet.
The rollover of £989,008 is the biggest since £1,127,824 was carried forward to the same course back in March 1995 and tomorrow’s total pool size could beat the record £2,308,852 that was set at Haydock last August.
“The eyes of the racing world will be focused on Exeter tomorrow as punters up and down the country try and land the totejackpot and we fully expect the pool not only to smash the £2million barrier but potentially be the biggest in the history of the bet,” said totepool spokesman George Primarolo. “
The biggest totejackpot dividend came on the second day of the Grand National meeting at Aintree where the bet returned £510,955.60 to a £1 stake. Previously, the record had stood at £494,880.00 at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile in October 2003.
