Long Run is just 4/1 to emulate Arkle and Best Mate by winning three Gold Cups, according to Ladbrokes, and 5/2 to win it next year.
The six year old is 5/2 to defend his crown next year and just even money to win again in the Gold Cup at any stage in his career.
He is 16/1 to win four Gold Cups and 50/1 to equal Golden Miller’s record of winning five Gold Cups in the 1930s.
David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “Long Run could be around for a long time. He is still so young and will look to dominate the elite chasing division for years to come.
“Kauto Star and Denman were living proof that age is no barrier to brilliant Gold Cup runs. Aged eleven, they were magnificent.”
