For Thursday’s selection, Paul Ferguson heads over to Ireland; today’s tip is Killultagh Queen in the 1.55 at Thurles.
The fairly quiet week since the Cheltenham Festival continues, but we’ve got Newbury’s two-day card to look forward to at the weekend and it’s only a fortnight until the Grand National meeting at Aintree.
Plus, the domestic Flat action will be getting underway shortly, so a few quiet days can be expected and for today’s sole selection I’m heading over to Ireland and to the opening beginners’ chase at Thurles.
Killultagh Queen (1:55) won’t have to improve on her latest outing to take this for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend, as she put up a fine effort in going down a head to Montan, who has twice since finished runner-up in better company.
A winner of a bumper at Fariyhouse and a maiden hurdle at Limerick, when she beat Golden Sunbird who has won three hurdles herself recently, the daughter of King’s Theatre should handle the quicker conditions and the tissue price of odds against rates as reasonable value in what looks a weak contest.
Thursday’s selection:
1:55 Thurles Killultagh Queen
