Live on British Eurosport: Mon 07.30: John Higgins starts the China Open as 5/1 fav (bet365) while crowd favourite Ding Junhui is 15/2.
Junhui reached last year’s final but couldn’t close it out and should be considered at 15/2 (YouWin.com), especially after his Masters win. Higgins is a class player but preference goes for Ding.
Last year’s winner Mark Williams, who defeated Ding, is a 10/1 with Boylesports, Ronnie O’Sullivan comes in at 15/2 with Coral but is in unreliable form. Neil Robertson will be looking to gear up for the World Champs and needs this as good practice but his form has been shoddy and can’t be counted on at 9/1 (Paddy Power).
Shaun Murphy couldn’t add the Championship League Snooker title to his recent PTC Grand Final win but he could be a touch overpriced at 14/1 by Betfred here. Matthew Stevens, who beat Murphy in that final, is a huge 66/1 (888sport) to win this. These two are worth watching.
