Blackstairmountain has been cut to 12/1 co-fav of five (from 16/1) by totesport for the Vincent O’Brien County Hurdle at Cheltenham after the weights for the Festival handicaps were unveiled this afternoon.
Willie Mullins’ six-year-old has been allotted 10st 9lb for the two-mile event with Overturn and Celestial Halo topping the weights at 11st 12lb.
‘Blackstairmountain showed plenty of promise as a novice to be of interest in a race like the County Hurdle and the fact that we’ve only seen him twice this term suggests that this has very much been the plan all season,’ said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
In other races, Definity has joined Quantitativeeasing at the head of the market for the Centenary Novices’ Handicap Chase after being cut to 10/1 joint-favourite (from 12/1) by totesport whilst On Borrowed Wings is 12/1 (from 14/1) for the same race.
Call The Police, Alaivan and Sir Des Champs have all been cut for the Coral Cup whilst Kilcrea Kim is the new 10/1 joint-favourite (from 12/1) for the Pertemps Final alongside Barafundle.
