Chris Hughton is the 5/4 favourite with Ladbrokes to be the next West Brom manager after Roberto di Matteo was dismissed.
Derek McInnes is the 4/1 second favourite for the job with Martin O’Neill a 6/1 chance in a market full of several familiar names. Roberto DiMatteo’s dismissal wasn’t predicted by punters however with him on offer at 14/1 in the ‘next manager to leave’ market before kick off yesterday.
Diego Maradona is a 20/1 chance with former manager Gary Megson a 25/1 outsider.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The shortlist is a who’s who of managers linked with every Premiership vacancy with the likes of Curbishley and O’Neill amongst front-runners. Hughton is the early favourite as we brace ourselves for the usual twists and turns associated with these markets.”
he added: “this also proves that there is some value to be had in the sack race market as the tight nature of the table this season looks set to push board-rooms to the limit.”
