Tottenham Hotspur will see Blackpool as a good oppurtunity to extend their winning streak; Spurs are 4/5 with .
Blackpool snapped a five-match losing streak last time out, snaring a point at home to ten-man Aston Villa but they could be up against it as Spurs arrive at Bloomfield Road. The Seasiders are 4/1 with Stan James to secure their second win of 2011 and 3/1 (bet365) to manage another draw but Harry Redknapp’s Tottenham side have a knack of grinding out results at the moment, they’ve won four in a row in all competitions and they can extend that run to five in this one.
price the visitors at 4/5, although the absence of Rafael van der Vaart means we’d probably want something a touch higher before simply recommending an away win. Without the craft of the Dutchman, Spurs might play through Peter Crouch a touch more and the towering striker, who has struck in his last two away games, is a tasty 13/8 with Boylesports to get on the scoresheet at any time against a leaky Blackpool defence.
In addition, early goals are a distinct possibility given that Tottenham’s last three in the Premiership have seen the deadlock broken inside a dozen minutes. Add to this the fact that there have been at least two first half goals in Blackpool’s last seven matches and bet365’s 5/4 for a tally of more than 1.5 in the opening 45 minutes looks well worth considering.
Recommended Bets:
Peter Crouch to score at any time – 13/8 (Boylesports)
More than 1.5 goals in the first half – 5/4 (bet365)
