A final field of 23 has been declared for Saturday’s totesport Trophy at Newbury and Solix currently leads the way at 15/2 (Totesport).
Alan King has declared all four of his horses after he gave Walkon the go-ahead to run in the race this morning and he is the 8/1 joint-second favourite alongside his stablemate Salden Licht.
Totesport say it’s a 3/1 chance that King trains the winner whilst Nicky Henderson is a 9/2 shot to train his fifth winner in fourteen years having declared Solix, Soldatino and Eradicate for the £120,000-added event.
However, the sponsors believe that it is Walkon who is most likely to go off favourite and make him a 3/1 shot to do so. Solix is a 9/2 shot to be returned the SP favourite whilst it’s 5/1 that either last year’s winner Get Me Out Of Here or Salden Licht go off as jolly.
“Despite being the subject of a huge ante-post gamble over the past week or so, the money for Solix has dried up in recent days and Walkon now looks the most likely candidate to go off as favourite having been given the go-ahead to run on Saturday,” said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
