Peddlers Cross is 5/1 (from 9/2) joint third favourite with Coral for next month’s Champion Hurdle, after maintaining his unbeaten record at Kelso this afternoon. Reigning champion Binocular is 11/4 favourite for a repeat success, ahead of the Irish star, Hurricane Fly, at 4/1.
“Twelve months ago Zaynar was turned over in this race at odds of 1/14, but Peddlers Cross never looked like suffering the same fate, and although we weren’t overly impressed, he has come through his prep race unscathed, and he will now put his unbeaten record on the line as one of the market principals for the Champion Hurdle, a contest that is shaping up to be the race of the Festival,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Elsewhere, West End Rocker heads Coral’s betting for Saturday’s Haydock Grand National Trial at 9/2, while last Sunday’s Exeter winner, Bakbenscher, has attracted support for the Racing Post Chase, and is 11/1 (from 16/1) for the Kempton highlight.
