Live on Eurosport 2: Tue 13.45: Ronnie O’Sullivan is 4/7 () to beat Ryan Day in the Welsh Open today.
O’Sullivan, currently the joint 6/1 fav with Betfred to win outright, should breeze past Day without to much bother but it remains to be seen if he is in the correct mental state following a withdrawl from Germany. Also, he is heading straight for a quarter final with his co-fav John Higgins (6/1, Blue Square). Day is even money with a 1.5 frame headstart (Coral), which is perhaps 1 frame to little on the handicap.
Higgins and Harold contest the only 2nd round match of the day, Higgins the 4/11 fav with William Hill while a victory for Shaun Murphy, at 4/7 (Paddy Power), over Matthew Stevens will set up a second round tie with O’Sullivan.
Neil Robertson and Mark Williams progressed yesterday and the latter has moved into 7/1 (bodog) from 9/1 after a convincing 4-0 win over Marco Fu.
