Live on Skysports 4: Sun 18.00 & 20.00: Real Madrid’s fearsome home record looks set to continue as they host Real Sociedad.
Real Madrid’s title hopes were dealt a blow last weekend as they suffered a shock defeat at Osasuna but they followed that up with a 2-0 Copa Del Rey triumph against Seville in midweek and a second consecutive league reverse looks unlikely as Jose Mourinho’s men entertain Real Sociedad.
Real have a remarkable record at the Bernabeu where they have won every single one of their 17 matches in all competitions and in that sequence they have conceded just seven goals. It’s hard to think of any positives from the perspective of the visitors, who have lost seven of their eleven away games then, and it’s little wonder Los Blancos are just 1/6 at Ladbrokes to collect maximum points.
In the handicaps, Mourinho’s charges are 11/10 (bet365) to come out on top when giving away a two-goal start but the best bet, given Madrid’s parsimonious defence has to be Paddy Power’s evens for them to prevail ‘to nil’.
Also set to win without conceding could be Valencia. Los Che have a 7-3-1 record at home while opponents Hercules’ away sheet is in direct contrast, reading 1-3-7; crucially though the visitors have only found the net three times in those 11 matches on their travels and the hosts can capitalise at the Mestalla. Valencia are 4/9 (Totesport) to emerge victorious and 6/4 with 888Sport to combine that with a clean sheet.
Recommended Bets:
Real Madrid to beat Real Sociedad ‘to nil’ – evens (Paddy Power)
Valencia to beat Hercules ‘to nil’ – 6/4 (888Sport)
