Paul Ferguson has two racing selections for us on Friday; Rebel Rebellion (2.35 Kemp) and Cheltenian (4.55 Kemp).
Though he has been off the track since flopping at Ascot in November Rebel Rebellion (2:35) is given another chance in the 2m5f novice hurdle at Kempton on Friday.
A smart bumper performer for Charlie Mann last term, he was making his debut for Paul Nicholls when disappointing on his hurdles bow, after which it was reported that he choked.
Sure to have had the problem rectified, the ground and trip should be fine for this return and the booking of Daryl Jacob looks significant as the Hennessy-winning jockey has a 30% strike-rate when teaming up with the champion trainer this season.
In the bumper that rounds off proceedings Cheltenian (4:55) can make a winning debut for Philip Hobbs, after changing hands for no less than £210,000 in November.
The five-year-old travelled like a talented individual on his racecourse debut at Punchestown in October and would have won but for showing distinct signs of inexperience in the home straight.
Friday’s selection:
2:35 Kempton Rebel Rebellion
4:55 Kempton Cheltenhian
