Live On ESPN: Tue: 19:45 Celtic are 1/2 favourites with William Hill to beat Aberdeen in the SPL at Pittodrie.
For the third time in less than a fortnight, Aberdeen and Celtic lock horns and it’s the latter that should make it a hat-trick of victories against the Dons.
Craig Brown’s men didn’t really get out of the blocks in Saturday’s CIS Cup semi-final against the Hoops and were 4-0 down inside 35 minutes, so it perhaps easy to see why William Hill’s 1/2 marked against Celtic is the best price available for an away win ahead of the Pittodrie clash.
However, Aberdeen can put up a little more of a fight on their own patch and they could at least ensure the final score is a little closer than the weekend’s 4-1 reverse. Take Celtic at 11/4 (Stan James) to nick it by a one-goal margin then, as they did when the pair met just over a week ago at Parkhead.
Tuesday’s other SPL contest sees bottom club Hamilton head to Perth to face St Johnstone in a game that doesn’t promise goals. The two sides are the lowest scorers in the division, the Accies having managed just 14 goals in 21 games, one less than Saints have struck in 22 and so punters backing a match total of fewer than 2.5 goals at 8/11 with Coral should pocket a profit but it could be worth taking it a step further and aiming lower than 1.5, an outcome the same firm rate at 9/4.
Betfred meanwhile, make St Johnstone their 10/11 favourites but neither has consistent enough form to warrant a wager in the match betting.
Recommended Bets:
Celtic to beat Aberdeen by one – 11/4 (Stan James)
Under 1.5 goals in St Johnston v Hamilton – 9/4 (Coral)
