Coral has reopened betting on this season’s National Hunt Trainers’ title, and make Paul Nicholls the 4/9 fav, with Nicky Henderson 13/8, after the latter enjoyed another excellent Saturday afternoon, headed by Riverside Theatre’s Ascot Chase success. The seven-year-old is now 7/1 with Coral for the Ryanair Chase, while his King George conqueror, Long Run, is 5/1 (from 6/1) for the Gold Cup.
Other market moves on an informative afternoon saw Big Fella Thanks take Grand National favouritism at 12/1, Dunguib cut to 14/1 (from 20/1) for the Champion Hurdle, for which Mille Chief was eased to 14/1 (from 12/1), and Back In Focus, 6/1 favourite (from 33/1) for the Albert Bartlett after his Haydock win.
“Nicky Henderson’s fine run of form shows no sign of stopping, and although Paul Nicholls remains odds-on favourite to retain his title, the gap, in betting terms, is the closest it’s been all season, and with plenty of prize money on offer at Cheltenham and Aintree, this race could go all the way to the wire,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
