Paul Ferguson has two horse racing selections for us on Friday; Tarablaze (3.00 Newbury) and Just Amazing (5.00 Sandown).
This afternoon Newbury stages the rescheduled card from Saturday and it looks just as tough as the original fixture from last weekend.
With the ground turning softer during the past six days, it could be worth taking a chance on Tarablaze (3:00) at the forecast prices, in the 3m novices’ chase.
Aiteen Thirtythree is without doubt an exciting novice prospect, but Paul Nicholls’ course-and-distance winner prefers slightly better ground, whereas Philip Hobbs’ charge relishes soft ground and should improve considerably for the step up in trip.
At Sandown, Nicholls should win the concluding hunters’ chase courtesy of Just Amazing (5:00) despite the fact he would like slightly better ground and a bit further.
The son of Presenting enters this sphere at a relatively young age and is currently rated 145, following an impressive win in a Cheltenham novice chase back in April last year.
Friday’s selections:
3:00 Newbury Tarablaze
5:00 Sandown Just Amazing
