Paul Ferguson picks out Spirit Son in the 2.40 at Exeter as the one to follow on Sunday. Horse racing oddschecker
Exeter’s Listed novices’ hurdle should prove informative on Sunday and Spirit Son (2:40) is fancied to maintain his 100% record in it.
A winner Auteuil in September, he made a really taking debut in Britain at Huntingdon last month, where he was doing his best work late on.
A smooth traveller, he could well develop in to a contender for top novice honours after this and the son of Poliglote appears to be high up the pecking up among Nicky Henderson’s smart bunch of youngsters.
This is no penalty kick for the selections, however, as conceding 12lbs to Cedre Bleu won’t be easy, but the five-year-old could be more streetwise than Paul Nicholls’ juvenile who should make a cracking chaser next term.
Spirit Son’s connections should know where they stand with Cedre Bleu, as he beat their Titan De Sarti last time, so market confidence for Barry Geraghty’s mount could also prove significant.
Sunday’s selection:
2:40 Exeter: Spirit Son
