Cards On The Cards At Celtic

Live on Skysports 4: Sun 12.30: The referee could be a busy man in the Old Firm derby which is 6/5 with to go Celtic’s way.

There were four goals and two red cards as Rangers and Celtic scrapped it out at Ibrox a fortnight and the pair can pick up where they left off as they renew hostilities at Parkhead.

On home soil, the Hoops are 6/5 favourites to open up an eight-point lead at the top of the table while Walter Smith’s men are 12/5 with bet365 to close the gap to just two but it could be a case of same teams, same result and Paddy Power offer 12/5 for it to finish all square again.

It’s certainly set to be fiery affair, Steven Naismith and Fraser Forster received their marching orders two weeks ago, taking the derby dismissal tally to four in the last five and another sending off in this one is available at 21/10 with 888Sport. The same firm quote 10/1 for both teams to be reduced to ten men and William Hill will give you 2/1 for the ref to be in the thick of it early on by brandishing a card in the opening 15 minutes.

Scott Brown and El Hadji Diouf meanwhile, have one or two scores to settle and the duo are 3/1 and 7/2 respectively with Hills to be shown a card of any colour for a foul on the other.

The ‘Gers will set themselves up to keep things tight, as they did against Sporting Lisbon but Neil Lennon’s charges have been in decent nick in terms of goals lately and they can get amongst the goals. However, with Naismith back and Nikica Jelavic full of confidence after his hat trick last Saturday, the visitors should also strike and it’s 7/10 (Partybets) for both teams to find the net.

A tally of at least three goals is even money at Totesport and at least one of those can come from Anthony Stokes. The Hoops man has bagged in each of his last seven games and Stan James rate him at 2/1 to extend that sequence to eight in this one.

In the afternoon’s other game, Hibs have stopped the rot with a couple of wins but their away record leaves a lot to be desired and St Mirren tempt at 7/4 with to put a stop to the Hibees recovery.

Recommended Bets:
Over 2.5 goals in Celtic v Rangers – evens (Totesport)
Anthony Stokes to score at any time – 2/1 (Stan James)
A red card to be shown in Old Firm derby – 21/10 (888Sport)
St Mirren to beat Hibs – 7/4 ()
