Paul Ferguson has two more tips for today’s racing; he’s gone for Bellvano (1.40 Ludl – ABANDONED) and Tito Bustillo (3.30 Taun).
Nicky Henderson continued his tremendous January with a treble at Newbury yesterday and his Bellvano (1:40) is fancied to score at the second time of asking over fences at Ludlow on Thursday.
The son of Silvano was sent off very short to make a winning start to his chasing career at Southwell earlier in the month, where he looked set to land the odds before stumbling at the penultimate fence.
Tony McCoy’s mount can gain compensation here, on a track that should suit.
Down at Taunton, Paul Nicholls will be hoping smart bumper performer Al Ferof can get off the mark at cramped odds in the novice hurdle and the Champion Trainer looks to hold a very strong hand in the 2m1f handicap hurdle.
Sanctuaire could easily bounce back in a more strongly run race, but stable-mate Tito Bustillo (3:30) is two from two over course-and-distance on soft ground and he ran really well on his season return in the Elite Hurdle in early November.
Despite being absent since, the six-year-old is fancied to strike for Nick Scholfield.
