Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Thursday; Full Of Joy (3.25 Warw) and On The Fringe (4.20 Thur).
Despite a 12lb rise for his Newbury success in November Full Of Joy (3:25) is fancied to follow up in the Molson Coors Handicap Hurdle at Warwick on Thursday.
The JP McManus owned six-year-old moved powerfully up the home straight last time and, though it would have been nice to see the runner-up shape better yesterday, the pair pulled a mile clear and the son of King’s Theatre looked one to keep on the right side of.
Both breeding and running style suggest this step up in trip should suit and the champion jockey’s mount looks one of only a few unexposed types in the race.
The owner’s famous green and gold hoops can also be carried to success by On The Fringe (4:20) in Thurles’ concluding Hunters Chase.
Another lightly raced six-year-old, the selection only won his point in March and landed the Champion Hunters Chase at Punchestown the following month.
Joint-favourite with a couple of firms for the Foxhunter on Gold Cup day, connections will be hopeful that he can get his season off to a winning start here.
Thursday’s selections:
3:25 Warwick Full Of Joy
4:20 Thurles On The Fringe
