Coral has cut Nicky Henderson to 3/1 (from 6/1) for the National Hunt Trainers’ championship, following wins for Binocular and Long Run at Kempton on Saturday. Reigning champion Paul Nicholls remains odds-on favourite to retain the title, but has been eased to 1/5 (from 1/10).
“With a five-timer at Kempton, Nicky Henderson had a day to remember on Saturday, and wins for Binocular and Long Run have breathed new life into this season’s title race. However, Paul Nicholls remains hot favourite and the one to beat, and could well strike back with Master Minded at Ascot next weekend,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Binocular is 7/2 favourite for a repeat win in the Champion Hurdle, while Long Run is 6/1 second favourite for the Gold Cup, for which two-time winner Kauto Star has been eased to 8/1 (from 4/1) by Coral.
