Live on Skysports 1: Sat from 14.00: Its quarter-finals time at the PDC World Champs; van Barneveld is 5/4 (888sport) to beat Anderson.
Barney is not often the odds against outsider but Gary Anderson, 4/6 at Sportingbet, is in flying form, cruising past Andy Smith 4-0 in the 3rd Round. Anderson can edge this but perhaps back Barney to land the most 180’s. It’ll be very tight so maybe Barney in the handicaps is shrewd.
First up on New Years Day is Wes Newton, looking to cause a bit of a shock at 6/4 (Totesport) against Terry Jenkins. The latter, 8/15 at Stan James, is in good shape this year and you wouldn’t bet against him.
Vincent van der Voort has made his way to the last 8 nicely, with arguably one of the tougher 2nd and 3rd Round paths; his defeat of Whitlock (as flagged up here) was excellent and he now faces his biggest test in the form of Adrian Lewis; the Dutchman is 13/5 at Boylesports while Lewis is just 2/7 (bet365). Taking van der Voort on the handicaps is well worth it.
The last game of the night sees 16th title-chasing Phil Taylor as 1/6 fav (William Hill) to beat Mark Webster, corrects scores of 5-1 and 5-2 are both 3/1 at Coral.
