Southampton are even money (Totesport) to continue a good run but their hosts, Oldham, could cause an ‘upset’ at a large 3/1 (Betfred).
In-form Southampton have moved into promotion contention in League One on the back of three straight wins and also accounted for Premiership Blackpool in the FA Cup on Saturday and they’re Totesport’s even money favourites to continue their good form at Oldham.
However, in the wake of that excellent cup triumph, it’s a bit of a comedown to visit a freezing cold Boundary Park and it could be a case of ‘after the Lord Mayor’s show’ for Nigel Adkins’ troops who look vulnerable up against a solid Latics outfit.
Paul Dickov’s play-off chasing side have lost just once on their own patch all season and on that basis are simply too big at 3/1 (Betfred) to get the better of Saints team with as many defeats as victories on the road.
There’s something of a six-pointer at Memorial Stadium as struggling Bristol Rovers lock horns with rock-bottom Walsall and it’s the Pirates bookies favour, offering 5/4 for a home win. However, the Pirates are winless in nine and have the worst scoring record in the division at home so the Saddlers will fancy their chances, especially after their late comeback at Tranmere earned them a point on Saturday.
At 5/2 with Paddy Power, the visitors are relatively attractive then but it’s worth taking on some insurance given their own inconsistency and the value therefore lies in the ‘Draw No Bet’ market, where Stan James quote Walsall at 6/4,
In the other two games, Huddersfield (8/13, 888Sport) should have too much for Plymouth at the Galpharm Stadium and Peterborough, at 23/20 () can get the better of Brentford at London Road.
