Graeme Swann’s odds have been slashed to 10/1 by Ladbrokes for this year’s Sports Personality of The Year award following his Ashes performance.
The popular England spinner was available at 66/1 before the Ashes but a polished bowling performance has seen him backed into 10/1 as the joint third favourite with Lee Westwood.
A P McCoy remains the odds-on favourite at 5/6. He rode at Cheltenham today where he registered a winner, with the feature race on the card titled the ‘Vote A P Gold Cup’. Ladbrokes remain strong supporters of the champion jockey and Grand National winner despite a victory for him presenting the firm with a huge payout.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Swann’s bowling must be winning voters over. He’d have to do something pretty special in the third test though to overtake long-standing favourite and worthy winner AP.”
