Roy Hodgson has been backed into 9/4 (from 8/1) with Ladbrokes to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post.
Having eased to 8/1 following a run of improved performances, Wednesday night’s home defeat to strugglers Wolverhampton Wanderers triggered a large gamble on the under-pressure boss.
Avram Grant remains the 2/1 favourite but has drifted from odds-on whilst he remains undefeated in West Ham’s ‘3 game ultimatum period’. Fulham boss Mark Hughes tasted defeat at the hands of Grant’s West Ham at home recently and he is the 5/1 joint third favourite with ex-coach turned permanent Blackburn manager Steve Kean.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The fans were calling for King Kenny and Hodgson appears to be running out of excuses. The money suggests he might be clearing his desk in the new year.”
