Live on Skysports 3: Thu 09.00 & 21.00: This week hosts two off-season tournaments; the Nedbank Challenge and Chevron Challenge.
Lee Westwood is Betfred’s 3/1 fav at the Nedbank Challenge down in South Africa, a 12 man invitational played every year in Sun City. Ernie Els is the 11/2 2nd fav with Coral while last year’s winner, Robert Allenby, has rejected the Australian Open to come and defend his title and ranks as a 10/1 shot with Ladbrokes.
The excellent Eduardo Molinari is a tempting 22/1 (Skybet), Retief Goosen is 8/1 at William Hill and the very steady Ross Fisher, with a host of top 20 finishes this year, is a 9/1 chance with Betdaq.
In America, Tiger Woods hosts his annual Chevron Challenge at Sherwood Country Club and he is 4/1 fav (Boylesports) to win in his first entry since 2007. Last year’s winner, Jim Furyk, is bet365’s 9/1 chance to land the mammoth first prize while Rory McIlroy and Gramem McDowell have been paired together – they are 12/1 (Ladbrokes) and 16/1 (Paddy Power) respectively.
Ian Poulter has an excellent chance here, ending 2010 in storming fashion. Back him at 12/1 with Totesport and even take the eacy-way (fifth odds top 4) for a decent return.
Down under, the Australian Open has failed to attract any of the big guns but Adam Scott is 11/2 fav (Betfred) to defend his title. John Senden looks a touch over priced at 14/1 (Coral) while Stuart Appleby is a good 12/1 shout (Boylesports) after collecting the JB Were trophy recently.
