William Hill are offering 4/1 that cracks in the coalition will lead to a General Election during 2011 after Vince Cable was in hot water.
‘The coalition relies on cross-Party agreement, and the indication that there are significant cracks appearing could jeopardise the long term survival of the arrangement’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
And Hills have halved their odds for Vince Cable to quit or be sacked as a Cabinet Minister before the end of 2011 from 4/1 to 2/1 after the furore over his reported remarks about Rupert Murdoch and other matters. ‘Some political observers will see this incident as heralding the beginning of the end for the coalition and, possibly, Mr Cable’s career in the Cabinet’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. ‘There is little doubt his credibility has been damaged.’
