With the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton taking place in April next year, bookmaker Coral expect a spate of celebrity marriages.
Favourites to walk down the aisle according to the odds are TV presenter Christine Bleakley and England footballer Frank Lampard, 6/4 with Coral, with Simon Cowell next in the betting, the X Factor supremo a 2/1 shot to marry fiancee Mezghan Hussainy in 2011.
“We think there will be plenty of celebrities who follow Prince William and Kate Middleton down the aisle next year, and Strictly Come Dancing winner Kara Tointon is 12/1 to tie the knot with her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev, while Cheryl Cole is 16/1 to wed another dancer, Derek Hough. Cole’s former husband, Chelsea full-back Ashley, is 20/1 to get together with model Kayla Collins,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
“Less likely to say ‘I Do’ in 2011 are Liz Hurley and Shane Warne, 33/1 outsiders to marry, while a second Royal union in the same year looks unlikely, and Prince Harry is 100-1 to marry Chelsy Davy,” added Stevens.
“Finally, following reports that her marriage to Alex Reid is on the rocks, Jordan is 50/1 to divorce the cage-fighter and marry her next husband in 2011, whoever that man might be!” said Stevens.
