Live On Skysports 3: Thu 09.00 & 21.00. Angus Loughran previews this week’s Nedbank and Chevron Challenges and the SPOTY odds.
The regular season may be over but there are 3 events round the world this week that offer punters plenty of action. Lee Westwood heads a 12 man field at 3/1 (888sport) in Nedbank Challange at Sun City and has a great chance while last last year’s Robert Allenby is a decent price at 10/1 (bet365) to give backers a decent run and follow his 3rd hole playoff triumph over swede Henrik Stenson 12 months ago. Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen is overpriced at 16/1 (Stan James) and looks sure to be a leading contender here also.
Over in California Tiger Woods hosts The Chevron World Challenge and must be backed at 9/2 with Totesport to win his own event, Ian Poulter in the form of his life has to be considered at 12/1 () but the only downside to Poulter’s hopes must be serious fatigue and jetlag. Dustin Johnson could be the each-way value though at 16/1 (Ladbrokes) and he is a terrific value bet this week.
The BBC Sports Personality of 2010 shortlist was announced earlier in the week and although AP McCoy is a deserved market leader, I cannot believe US Open Champion Graeme McDowell is a huge price at 11/2 with and Bet365. This is a great bet and should be played to as big a stake as you can afford.
