Tony McCoy is now Coral’s 5/6 fav for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award after the F1 boys missed out on glory.
For the first time ever, champion jump jockey Tony McCoy is odds-on favourite with bookmaker Coral to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award. McCoy is 5/6 (from evens) to win next month’s vote, with his fellow Ulsterman, Graeme McDowell, the 7/2 (from 3/1) second favourite.
“With Lewis Hamilton missing out on the F1 world championship, and David Haye proving very little in his mis-match against Audley Harrison, Tony McCoy is now the standout candidate for this year’s Sports Personality award, and as far as we’re concerned, he deserves to be odds-on to finally achieve this wider public recognition,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
“If every punter who has ever won money thanks to AP’s efforts voted for him next month, he would be a shoo-in to win, and hopefully that’s what will happen,” added Stevens.
