Two second places for Paul Ferguson on Wednesday, Thursday’s selections comes in the 3:10 at Taunton: Pennellis 11/8 Betfred and William Hill.
Noel Fehily teamed up with Paul Nicholls to good effect at Exeter earlier in the week, riding a double for the champion trainer aboard Watamu Bay and the impressive Royal Charm, and the pair look set for another successful day at Taunton on Thursday.
Dark Lover looks to have been found a nice opportunity to make his hurdles debut, but he is likely to be sent off a skinny odds, whilst Rebel Du Maquis jumped well on his chasing bow and sets a fair standard in the novices’ chase.
He faces a couple of useful types, so the selection goes to Pennellis (3:10) who looks to have been let in lightly off a mark of 110 on his handicap debut. Early Price 11/8 Betfred, and William Hill
He reportedly choked during his races last term and has had corrective surgery over the summer to rectify the problem.
The son of Alderbrook returned at Chepstow last month where he chased home a couple of useful sorts and, with his confidence now restored, he is taken to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking over timber.
