Aberdeen are reeling from a 9-0 drubbing and Inverness, with an excellent away record, are 19/10 (Boylesports) to pile on the misery.
IT won’t attract the biggest crowd tonight but it could bring in the most bets. The game I’m talking about is Aberdeen v Inverness and everyone will want to back against Mark McGhee’s Aberdeen following their nightmare 9-0 defeat at Celtic on Saturday.
Everything points to an away win, 19/10 with Boylesports, except the fact the Dons are on the ropes and must win to save their manager’s job. Inverness are unbeaten away for a year, have won two and drawn two this season and are the only side to take a point off Rangers at Ibrox.
Aberdeen looked a mess at Parkhead and will start tonight without skipper and key man Paul Hartley. This will go two ways. Aberdeen will rise to the challenge and use siege mentality to get a result, the Aberdeen win is 13/8 at Stan James, or Inverness will run away with it.
A couple of weeks ago fallen Dutch giants Feyenoord crashed 10-0 at PSV and responded with a 3-0 win over VVV Venlo, so sides can turn it around in the space of days but to me it looks like the Dons, with just four points from 27, need a managerial change. McGhee is lucky to have survived the Parkhead-pasting and Partybets make tonight’s game 6/4 to be his last in charge.
The Dons boss is 1/2 to win the SPL sack race ahead of Hamilton’s Billy Reid (Betdaq) and St Mirren’s Danny Lennon at 6/1. Former Pittodrie star Gordon Strachan is 5/1 with William Hill to be next Dons boss.
I’ll be backing Inverness all the way. They are a best 19/10 with Boylesports and the same firm offer 18/1 on ICT minus two, which could be a standout bet if Terry Butcher’s men score early. The draw pays 23/10 with bet365.
Inverness are 7/4 with Hills not to score, 7/5 for one, 3/1 for two, 15/2 for three and 18/1 for four or more. Hills offer 50/1 on any other team scoring nine in the SPL this season.
Compare all Aberdeen v Inverness odds and bet at the best price.
