A first and a second for Paul Ferguson on Tuesday. Today’s selections come in the 1:45 Naas: Shot From The Hip and
3:10 Bangor: Scoter Fontaine
Tony McCoy has a fine book of rides at Bangor on Wednesday and the champion jockey will be disappointed if he is leaving north Wales without a winner or two.
Alfie Sherrin and Rock Noir provide MoCoy with strong chances in the opening two contests, but the pick of his five mounts looks to be Scoter Fontaine (3:10) who looks a cut above his rivals in a fairly uncompetitive novices’ hurdle. Early price; evens Bet365
Rebecca Curtis’s bumper winner shaped with a great deal of promise on his hurdles debut at Aintree last month and he should get off the mark at the second time of asking.
McCoy’s boss, owner J P McManus, can strike over in Ireland too, courtesy of Shot From The Hip (1:45) at Naas. Early price; 11/10 betfair
Edward O’Grady, who also introduces the exciting Staying Article half an hour later, saddled the six-year-old to win a couple of heavy ground bumpers, before he was sent off favourite for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham.
His trainer believes the exertions of his February victory took it’s toll at the festival and that he was over the top when only mid-division at Punchestown the following month.
Held in high regard, he can strike on his debut over timber.
Wednesday’s selections:
