Live on Skysports 1: Mon 18.00: Bodog.com World GP action runs until Sunday; Kevin Francis has a look at some of the each-way chances aside from Phil Taylor.
Phil Taylor begins the defence of his Bodog.com World Grand Prix in Dublin on Monday and the Daily Star’s KEVIN FRANCIS casts his eyes onto the oche…
Super thrower Phil Taylor will be bidding to win his tenth Worth Grand Prix title but, as expected, ‘The Power’ is a somewhat prohibitive 1/2 favourite with the with Boylesports and 888sport. I think a better value approach would be to look for some reasonably-priced each-way chances.
Five-times world champion Raymond van Barneveld, known to his fans as ‘The Man’, enters the £350,000 tournament as an attractive 10/1 shot with bet365, Victor Chandler, Stan James and bwin. Then there’s world number three James Wade, the 2007 Grand Prix champ, who is rated at 12/1 by Paddy Power, Coral and William Hill.
Pub owner Gary Anderson, ‘The Flying Scotsman’, is a tempting 25/1 shot with Sportingbet, bodog and Ladbrokes and the man who was defeated in this year’s UK Open final by Taylor is certainly a good each-way chance.
RECOMMENDED BET: Colin Lloyd, who won this tournament in 2004, looks a stand-out each-way chance (paid out on winner and runner-up) at cracking odds of 66/1 with Stan James.
Happy punting
Kevin
