Elsewhere, James Wade is just 1/4 (Ladbrokes) to see off Colin Osborne (7/2 Stan James), Simon Whitlock is a similar 2/7 with Betfred to make it past Andy Hamilton and lastly, Wes Newton is a reasonably backable 1/2 (Betdaq) to beat Barrie Bates, which he should do with ease.
Taylor is still the heavy fav for this competition – 2/7 with bet365 to win a 3rd consecutive World GP and a 7th title in 10 years. Van Barneveld is well worth considering as an each way prospect – 14/1 at Totesport, third-odds for a final appearance. Simon Whitlock is the 2nd fav, 8/1 at Skybet.
