UFC 120 at the O2 Arena on Saturday, October 16th, live on ESPN from 8.00pm
Michael Bisping will be aiming to get back in the world title mix when he competes in UFC 120 on Saturday. The Daily Star’s Kevin Francis takes a look at his chances – and those of two other Brits in action.
‘The Count’ Bisping has never lost in front of his home fans and it’s unlikely that his opponent Yoshihiro Akiyama, a 2/1 shot with Betfred, will bring an end to that run. Bisping, who is hoping to have a crack at the world middleweight crown after two more fights, is 10/21 with bodog.
Nottingham’s Dan ‘The Outlaw’ Hardy is a superb welterweight who lost his last fight on points when challenging world champ Georges St Pierre in March. He has the speed and striking power to overcome Carlos Condit on Saturday. Hardy is 8/13 with Stan James while Condit is rated 11/8 by Betfred.
John ‘The Hitman’ Hathaway is another Brit on the bill and the presence of the three best MMA exponents from these shores has ensured a sell-out crowd at the O2 Arena. Welterweight Hathaway is a 2/9 chance with 888sport to overcome American Mike Pyle (7/2 with bet365).
Recommended Bet: With the top three Brits all odds-on, why not try a treble on messrs Bisping, Hardy and Hathaway?
Happy punting
