Paul Ferguson has two selections on Sunday; Karasenir in the 3.25 at Kempton and Mr Cracker in the 4.30 at Cork.
Beaten by William Hogarth at Chepstow last Saturday Karasenir (3:25) is taken to reverse for and return to winning ways at Kempton this afternoon.
Philip Hobbs’ four-year-old made a hugely impressive winning debut over timber at Market Rasen last month and would have made it two from two, but for a couple of mistakes up the home straight.
Those errors are sure to have been ironed out by Hobbs, who had intended running Captain Chris in this contest. In his absence, the stable can still land the prize.
Best fresh, Noble Alan gets his ideal conditions in the feature contest, but he also faces an improving rival in Australia Day, so for the second bet it’s across the Irish Sea to Cork.
A former points winner and a useful novice hurdler last term Mr Cracker (4:30) made a pleasing start to his chasing career last week and should make it two from two.
