Live On Sky Sports 4: Sun 12:45. The Sunday Mail’s Oddsfellow, aka betrescue’s Chris Hutcheon fancies Dundee Utd to hold Celtic to a score draw at Tannadice.
Dundee United made a sluggish start to the campaign failing to win any of their opening three games but since then the Terrors have hit a rich vein of form, only a defeat at Ibrox spoiling a run of three wins in four.
Peter Houston’s boys will fancy their chances of putting paid to Celtic’s hundred percent record as the pair face-off at Tannadice, where a home win is 4/1 with Betfred, although the Hoops are odds-on favourites at 8/11 (888Sport) and a run of seven wins in seven makes them hard to oppose.
A case can be made for both sides but punters could cash-in by sitting on the fence with a flutter on ’s 14/5 for the draw and that bet is made more attractive by the fact that United have shared the spoils with Celtic in five of their last nine meetings across all competitions.
Neil Lennon’s side didn’t concede a single goal in their opening four victories but their opponents have found the net in each of the three wins since then and the Terrors, boosted by the return of Craig Conway, can also get on the scoresheet. Backing both teams to score at 8/11 with 888Sport should line punters’ pockets then and with that in mind, it could be worth getting on a score draw.
Gamebookers post 6/1 against the contest finishing one-each and for those that reckon Houston’s troops will at least get something from the game, Betfred give them a goal start in the handicaps at odds of 5/4.
Celtic have shared their goals around so far this season and it’s hard to look at their line-up and pick an obvious first scorer candidate, despite the fact that William Hill’s 6/1 shot Shaun Maloney has four in seven in the league.
At the other end meanwhile, David Goodwillie has scored in four of his last five appearances for Dundee United and as the 21-year-old striker is also responsible for penalties at Tannadice, he catches the eye at 8/1 (Totesport) to send the home fans wild by putting his side 1-0 up.
