Live on ITV4: Sat from 13.00: Ronnie O’Sullivan is 9/4 (Paddy Power) to win the all-new Power Snooker, live from London’s O2.
The new TV friendly format plays right into the attitude O’Sullivan has always taken throughout his snooker career; fast and furious. For this reason, The Rocket is a pretty justifiable 9/4 fav at Paddy Power.
Mark Selby is next in the betting, 9/2 with William Hill followed by Ding Junhui and Neil Robertson, both 6/1 at Sportingbet. World Champion Roberston has a real chance of pushing O’Sullivan here, warming up nicely after dispatching Ding 6-0 the other week in the Premier League.
Shaun Murphy is 15/2 (Totesport), Ali Carter 9/1 with Bet365 and Jimmy White, who deserves an outside quote of 25/1 with Skybet.
A final mention has to go to Luca Brecel. The 15 year-old Belgian is causing something of a stir on the snooker circuit as he rises through the ranks at such a young age. After beating Stephen Hendry early in 2010 in an exhibition match, Brecel went on to take the 2010 European Championships. He can defy his 33/1 outside odds (Stan James) and perhaps raise a few eyebrows, without actually winning the competition.
