Michael Sprott has been given a quote of 25/1 to land a world title by the end of 2011 by Skybet after lifting the Prizefighter trophy
Michael Sprott collected the Prizefighter trophy and a cheque for £32,000 on Saturday after coming out on top in the heavyweight tournament at the York Hall in Bethnal Green and Skybet are now speculating on what the triumph will mean for the Reading banger in 2011.
The victory, Sprott hopes, will boost his career in the same way that Audley Harrison’s was rejuvenated following his Prizefighter success a year ago and bearing in mind the latter now has a crack at David Haye’s WBA belt in November, Skybet make Sprott 25/1 to land a world title by the end of next year .
The 35-year old is also 8/1 to defeat sparring partner Wladimir Klitschko and 11/2 to overcome Haye in 2011 but it’s revenge on Harrison, who captured the European heavyweight title with a last-gasp knockout against Sprott in April, that the Harrogate-based bookmaker believe is the scenario most likely to unfold; Skybet offering 5/4 for Sprott to avenge that defeat before next year is out.
