Ladbrokes make Graeme McDowell their 6/4 joint favourite to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award.
The Northern Irishman, who won the 2010 US Open was also heroic for Europe in the deciding match for the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor and joins Champion Jockey Tony McCoy at the head of the betting for the December event on BBC1.
David Williams of Ladbrokes told betrescue.com said: “McDowell gave punters the fairytale ending to the Ryder Cup. Coupled with his US Open win he’s now got a huge chance of being crowned Sports Personality of the Year.”
