Leinster are 10/1 with Stan James to win the Heineken Cup after travelling to Wembley to beat Saracens without Brian O’Driscoll.
A Jonathan Sexton-inspired win for Leinster sealed a vintage day for the Irish clubs and all but put paid to Saracens’ chances of progressing beyond the group stage.
Fellow Irish outfit Munster are also a 10/1 chance – with William Hill – having easily accounted for Jonny Wilkinson’s Toulon.
Defending champions Toulouse remain the 7/2 favs (Coral) to win back-to-back Heineken Cups following their easy win over Gwent Dragons but Leicester sounded out their intentions for this year’s trophy with a resounding 46-10 thrashing of Scarlets, the bookies cutting them to be clear 6/1 2nd fav at Paddy Power.
Last year’s losing finalists Biarritz had a very solid 35-15 win over Ulster to keep them as Skybet’s 8/1 fancies while Wasps, despite winning, will need to concede less points to the likes of Glasgow if they are to defy their 25/1 tag (Betdaq).
