Live on Skysports 1: Mon 19.45: Cardiff head north to Leeds in the Championship where an away win, 8/5 (Totesport), is on the cards.
Victory for Cardiff at Leeds tonight will see the Bluebirds draw level with QPR at the top of the Championship although Dave Jones’ charges look unlikely to depose the leaders given that they would need to triumph by a dozen clear goals.
Nevertheless, a more modest win is well within Cardiff’s grasp against an inconsistent Leeds side, whose last two home matches have seen them throw away a 4-1 lead to lose 6-4 to struggling Preston before putting in a dismal performance in a 2-1 reverse against Leicester. Admittedly, between those results came a solid success at Middlesbrough but they look short of confidence on their own patch and defensively vulnerable.
City, at 8/5 with Totesport and arriving on the back of three straight victories, look the likely winners in West Yorkshire then, despite William Hill’s 2/1 outsiders Leeds enjoying home advantage, although in front of a vociferous crowd there’s always the chance that Simon Grayson’s men could raise their game and it could be prudent to guard against a stalemate by backing the Bluebirds at 5/6 in Coral’s ‘Draw No Bet’ market.
Cardiff marksman Craig Bellamy meanwhile is always a man for the big occasion and there are few bigger Championship stages than Elland Road. The loan striker can make a huge impact tonight and the threat he poses is reflected by the fact that he is just 5/4 in places to get on the scoresheet. The good news for punters is that Stan James post 23/10 against the Welsh international finding the net and at that price, he’s worth an interest.
