Live on Skysports 3: Sat 06.00: After narrowly losing in Mohali, Australia will be keen to avoid the draw (1/1 Boylesports) in Bangalore.
Once again, the draw is the heavy fav for the 2nd Test, just 1/1 with Boylesports. As opposed to Mohali, the weather report would actually lend some credibility to the price as plenty of showers are predicted for the coming week.
The last test had a similar 11/10 draw outlook but India battled through to defy that and take a last minute win. Betdaq put a massive 10/3 on India to take the 2nd and make it 2-0 but it is more likely that India will show a much more conservative approach and will be happy with a drawn result – notching up another unbeaten series win against Ponting’s men.
Australia are 11/4 with William Hill, yet again making the Indian team outsiders on their own patch. Australia are likely to come out with a more positive approach to try and force a result but the question remains whether there will be enough game time to break down Laxman, Dravid, Tendulkar and co.
Australia are sweating over Doug Bollinger after he walked off with an abdominal injury in the 1st Test, after dismissing Harbajhan. He is currently leading wicket taker, with Johnson, for the Australians with 5 wickets but his 3/1 (Blue Square) is in danger now for top wicket taker as he is only 50-50 to play. Johnson, therefore, would entice at 5/2 with Paddy Power.
Bangalore is expected to be as flat as a pancake, so expect Tendulkar to banish the frustration of hitting 98 last time out and being India’s top batsmen – 7/2 with Ladbrokes – and also get that century. Unfortunately this Test looks as though it will limp to a draw and the series will remain 1-0 to India, just a 1/3 chance with William Hill.
